Role description
Role: Business Analyst – Life Insurance SME Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid ) Experience: 12+ years Position Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Business Analyst with strong Life Insurance Domain expertise—specifically in Group Life Claims. The ideal candidate will serve as an SME, supporting requirements gathering, documentation, and alignment with development teams. Candidates must have solid experience with insurance claims processes, forms management, policy servicing, coverages, underwriting, and related correspondences. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Key Responsibilities • Analyze and understand business needs; translate them into clear functional specifications. • Create detailed requirement documentation for development and stakeholder teams. • Manage requirement changes throughout the project lifecycle. • Collaborate with other Business Analysts and development teams to validate user stories and ensure requirements are met. • Support Group Life Claims processes and workflows, including forms and claims handling. • Provide SME-level guidance on policy servicing, underwriting, and coverage-related processes. Core Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. • 8–10 years of Business Analyst experience, with strong Life Insurance domain expertise (mandatory). • Hands-on understanding of Group Life Claims, policy servicing, and claims process. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. • Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies preferred. • Experience with PRPC (Pega) performance tuning/optimization is a plus.
