Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Duration: 12–18 months Interview Type: In-person only Candidate must be local to VA Job Summary: Client is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst with over 5 years of experience working on software/application projects. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, with hands-on experience in Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Key Responsibilities: • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements. • Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and prepare process flow diagrams and wireframes. • Translate technical information into business terms and vice versa. • Manage Agile artifacts (Epics, Features, User Stories, Test Plans, etc.) using Azure DevOps (TFS). • Support testing efforts including system integration and user acceptance testing. • Work closely with developers, testers, and business users to ensure project success. • Assist with process modeling, user adoption, and rollout of new systems. Required Skills: • 5+ years as an IT Business Analyst on software/application projects. • Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum/SAFe) and Waterfall methods. • Experience with Azure DevOps (TFS), SQL, APIs, and data flow diagrams. • Ability to write clear, testable functional/non-functional requirements. • Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills. • Experience with Visio for diagrams and process modeling. Preferred: • Prior State of Virginia IT project experience
