Job Title: Sr Business Analyst Location: Remote (US) Pay Range: $60-$65/hr Term: 9-12 Month Contract (potential extension/conversion) Position Summary A member of an Agile Development team, the Senior Business Analyst brings value to an organization by ensuring strategic alignment between business needs and technical solutions, successfully delivering high-quality products. The Senior Business Analyst fosters strong stakeholder relationships and collaborates with business partners to define product features necessary to support their needs and deliver value to their customers. The role is responsible for product development through the software development lifecycle. This Senior Business Analyst leads discussions with business partners to elicit requirements and supports the development team in understanding the expected outcome and the value of the product being requested. This role will create user stories, delivery roadmaps, user journey mappings and other documents, leveraging different techniques to support the delivery of the most viable product. This role leads scope definition and management, and prioritization conversations and will perform analysis of processes and systems to help drive these discussions. Their effective leadership and organizational skills are critical to the timely and efficient completion of maintenance, enhancement and large-scale initiatives. This role will provide leadership and at times executive level summaries of product status, scope and value. The Senior Business Analyst will be a champion for all established processes, including Agile Scrum and Agile methodologies, and will support the rollout of future process improvements. The role will promote best practices within the technical team, and is responsible for Sprint Reviews, providing system demonstrations, incorporating feedback and preparing release communications. Additionally, their deep understanding of the specialty insurance market enables them to develop innovative solutions that address unique risks and challenges, driving overall business success. Responsibilities • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, customers, and development teams. • Conduct detailed business analysis to identify and understand the business needs of stakeholders. • Leverage knowledge of business objectives, products, workflows, processes, and industry trends to help the team develop innovative solutions that deliver value to end users and address unique risks and challenges. • Define and communicate actionable product vision, strategy, and roadmap to both business and delivery teams, collaborating closely to ensure design solutions that deliver value to the end user and ensure timely, accurate product delivery. • Develop and document business requirements, personas, use cases, user journey mappings, wireframes or other needed documentation to facilitate discussions and document the product. • Maintain a Product Backlog that is refined, prioritized, and ready for delivery team consumption. • Facilitate team effectiveness by answering questions, providing clarification and assisting delivery team members with their understanding of the request and the expected outcome. • Ensure the Acceptance Criteria is defined for each story. • Lead successful product delivery using Agile frameworks across maintenance, enhancements, and major initiatives, promoting best practices, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration with employees and vendor partners. • Build upon knowledge of the company's business environment and how assigned business and/or service units contribute to the company’s strategic objectives. • Maintain current knowledge of insurance industry developments and stay updated with the latest trends and developments in the market. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of solutions. • Gather and incorporate feedback from customers and stakeholders to continuously improve the product. • Track and report on project progress, helping to identify and mitigate risks as needed. • Analyze and evaluate existing business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency. • Serves as a change agent, supporting adoption of new systems, processes, and business capabilities across the organization • Influences through data-driven storytelling and structured communication, ensuring alignment and clarity across diverse groups. Decision-Making Authority / Accountability • Performs work with some supervision. • Seeks assistance from senior team members and/or managers as necessary. • Exercises independent judgment in accordance with specified policies and guidelines. • Prioritizes work based on measurable business value and strategic alignment. Qualifications • Possesses process and/or technical knowledge developed through comprehensive experience as a business analyst and/or product owner. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively. • Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements and translating these for technical resources. • Proficiency in project delivery and scope management. • Demonstrated experience with Agile delivery tools (e.g., Jira) and Agile methodologies, including the use of Epics, User Stories, Story Points, and participation in Sprint Planning activities. • Advanced communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise, and actionable insights for executive, technical, and non-technical audiences. • Exceptional written communication, including the ability to create compelling product narratives, executive summaries, and stakeholder updates. • Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence decisions without formal authority, and lead organizational change initiatives. • Experience in project delivery and scope management. • Experience supporting organizational improvements, delivering measurable business impact, and aligning cross-functional teams around shared goals. • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio. • Experience with UX Design or User Journey mapping is preferred. • Experience in Service Design preferred. • Experience with AI or newer technology solutions. Education And Experience • Bachelor’s degree or comparable, related work experience in business administration, finance, IT, or related field preferred. • 7+ years of related experience as a business analyst and/or product owner. • Experience in Property/Casualty or Specialty insurance markets required. • CPCU or IIA Certifications or comparable insurance certification preferred. • CBAP, or comparable Business Analysis or Product Owner certifications desired If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
