Business Analyst - Power BI, Data visualization, Utility, Snowflake/Sql Location: Oakland, CA Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid — required on-site at Oakland 1–3 times per week; primary work location is Oakland but may be needed at other sites within the service territory per business need (mainly Dublin or San Ramon) Contract Details • Position Type: Contract • Contract Duration: 18 months • Start: ASAP • Pay Rate: $65.00–$70.00 / Hour (USD) • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Job Summary This role focuses on performing analysis on complex data models and developing customized reports and data solutions. The analyst will develop new or revise existing data analysis to predict business outcomes, build and use metrics to develop recommendations related to business strategy and operations, and present findings and recommendations to leaders. The position also involves managing small to mid-size projects. Required Skills • Power BI and data visualization experience • Experience working in utilities space or operations • Snowflake or SQL related experience (a data modeling software) or any experience working with complex data models • Broad knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches and tactics • Advanced understanding of fundamental analysis and what-if modeling concepts, methods and techniques and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes • Creative problem skills to develop solutions • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to justify any business changes • Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management • Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results • Strong project management knowledge and skills to lead project teams • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills • Adaptable to changing business conditions and ambiguity • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, Visio or similar software • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform and development of data visualization • Experience in developing and optimizing SQL queries and working with large-scale data platforms such as Snowflake • Advanced in Information Analysis, Market Research, Metrics and KPI Tracking, Consulting Skills, Project Management skills • Proficient in Operational Monitoring & Analysis, Advocacy and Persuasion, Presentation Skills Education Requirements • Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience required • MBA or graduate degree (desired) Required Experience • Minimum 4 years of related work experience Work Environment / Physical Requirements • Hybrid assignment; required on-site at Oakland 1–3 times per week • Primary work location is Oakland but may be needed at other sites within the service territory per business need (mainly Dublin or San Ramon) • Laptop will be issued; supplier should have a laptop ready for day one to log in via Citrix if the issued laptop is delayed • Calls and meetings conducted via MS Teams • With manager prior approval, candidate can expense a pre-determined amount for internet Important Notes • Local candidates currently residing in the Bay Area / near the Oakland work location only Benefits • Medical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans • 401k Retirement Fund About the Company Leading natural gas and electric energy company serving millions of customers across the United States.
