JOB DETAILS: Job Title: Business Analyst-Private Equity (PE) Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Duration: 12+ Months Contract Job Description: We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Business Analyst with Private Equity domain experience to support business transformation and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring accurate requirement gathering, data validation, and solution delivery. This role requires strong communication skills, Salesforce expertise, and the ability to operate in a hybrid BA/Scrum Master capacity. Key Responsibilities 1. Business Analysis & Requirement Gathering • Work closely with Private Equity business stakeholders to understand business processes, investment lifecycle workflows, reporting needs, and operational challenges. • Gather, analyze, and document clear Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and user stories. • Translate business needs into functional specifications for development teams. • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement walkthrough sessions. 1. Data Review & Validation • Perform detailed data analysis to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency. • Review investment, portfolio, and financial datasets to validate business logic. • Support UAT by validating outputs against expected results. • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions. 1. Salesforce Expertise • Work with Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud / Financial Services Cloud preferred). • Gather and define requirements for Salesforce enhancements, workflows, dashboards, and reports. • Support configuration discussions and validate system changes. • Coordinate with Salesforce admins/developers to ensure alignment with business objectives. 1. Agile & Scrum Responsibilities • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. • Write and manage user stories with clear acceptance criteria. • Act as a proxy Scrum Master when required — facilitate meetings and remove blockers. • Track deliverables and ensure alignment with sprint goals. 1. Decision Making & Stakeholder Management • Support business decisions through structured analysis and insights. • Provide recommendations based on data findings and process evaluation. • Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders, portfolio managers, and technical teams. • Manage competing priorities and drive consensus. Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst. • Strong experience in Private Equity / Asset Management / Investment Management domain. • Hands-on experience with Salesforce (configuration knowledge preferred). • Strong experience in data analysis, validation, and reconciliation. • Experience writing detailed functional and technical requirements. • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodology. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience acting as a Scrum Master or hybrid BA/Scrum role. • Knowledge of Private Equity investment lifecycle (capital calls, distributions, portfolio tracking). • Experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). • SQL knowledge for data validation is a plus.
