Role description
Business Systems Analyst
Duration: 12 month Contract
Location: Remote (must reside in Indiana; potential travel onsite to Indianapolis as needed)
Hours: Core hours (9-3pm) – 40 hours/week
Pay: $24.87-43.20
Position Overview
This role operates at a senior level of business and systems analysis, supporting our government client. The position focuses on translating complex business needs—particularly financial and child welfare operations—into scalable technical solutions while collaborating cross-functionally across development, QA, support, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Understand agency mission, business processes and workflows
• Analyze and improve business processes with consideration of technical implications
• Deliver technical solutions while managing expectations across stakeholders
• Collaborate daily with development, QA, support, and project management teams
• Define system scope and objectives through research and requirements gathering
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery aligned with project schedules
• Participate in development of technical standards, procedures, and policies
• Support system testing, documentation, and validation processes
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience with business analysis documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, traceability matrices)
• Experience with process modeling and workflow design (Visio, BPMN, or similar)
• Experience across full SDLC (analysis, design, testing, implementation)
• Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments (Jira or similar tools)
• Experience supporting system testing, UAT, and defect tracking
• Experience with data analysis (SQL, Excel, or Power BI)
• Experience with systems integration and APIs (REST/SOAP)
• Experience with enterprise platforms (Salesforce, ERP, or similar technologies)
Preferred Qualifications
• Salesforce Certification (Administrator or Business Analyst)
• PBA/CBAP Certification
• MCSE/CSEP Certification
Core Skills & Expertise
• Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools
• Expertise in full software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Understanding of QA/testing approaches and methodologies
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall project delivery
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, Visio)
• Experience with Salesforce, Jira, and Axure RP is a plus
• Strong understanding of financial workflows and system translation
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
