Job Description:
The RPA Business Analyst is a member of the IT Digital Team and is responsible for BA activities and managing the Robotic Process Automation portfolio. The role collaborates with the cross-functional business areas, including Clinical, Discovery, Finance, and TechOps Development, to understand business processes, gather requirements, evaluate, assess, prioritize, and implement RPA robots to automate repetitive manual processes. The role liaises with internal IT, onshore and offshore RPA consultants, and developers to create RPA bots. The position plays a critical role in developing, executing, and governing the RPA strategy.
The RPA Business Analyst is accountable for leading aspects of RPA requirements, needs for assigned groups, including implementation, ongoing operational support, and relationship management.
Essential Functions of the Job (Key Responsibilities)
β’ Work directly with business partners to understand business challenges, collect requirements, and develop RPA solutions to automate manual processes.
β’ Plans, designs, develops, maintains, and supports RPA implementation projects, upgrades, change management, and ongoing operations of all robots within the assigned business area.
β’ Collaborate with project stakeholders, system implementation partners, vendors, and onshore and offshore resources on the design and development of new RPA bots in support of business needs.
β’ Establish a close relationship with business partners and collaboratively drive the RPA implementation strategy for the assigned area.
β’ Create a consensus with other stakeholders as to the timing of solution introductions and withdrawals.
β’ Review, and/or recommend new robots, changes to existing bots, and exceptions where robots may not be the optimum solution.
β’ Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes by providing input to the RPA technology budget.
β’ Ensure the various support teams are collaborating to deliver the right-fit RPA solutions to the assigned business area.
β’ Operate within a culture of compliance and collaboration.
Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
β’ Bachelorβs degree or equivalent business experience.
β’ 3+ experience as an RPA automation BA focused on the UiPath tool.
β’ Must have β 5-6 years of IT experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically focused on clinical and research.
β’ Project Management Experience is a Plus.
β’ Significant experience/knowledge of IT applications in clinical functions.
β’ Must be familiar with business processes in the following areas: Clinical Operations, Data Management, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Finance, HR, and Medical Affairs.
β’ Must have sound knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) and GCP processes.
β’ Ability to understand customer needs, negotiate complex issues, and total value offerings to customers, suppliers/partners. Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
β’ Ability to work with and manage on-shore, off-shore, and/or 3rd party development/support teams.
β’ Effective written and verbal communication skills, including a variety of business and technical audiences.
