Business Analyst
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in natural gas and midstream energy operations to support business and IT initiatives across pipeline, transportation, storage, and related operational systems. This role will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver solutions aligned with operational workflows, regulatory requirements, and enterprise objectives.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements supporting midstream natural gas operations, including pipelines, storage, scheduling, and asset management
β’ Translate operational workflows into clear user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria
β’ Develop and execute test cases, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and document test results to ensure solution quality
β’ Utilize Jira for requirements tracking, test case management, defect tracking, and reporting
β’ Partner with business users, product owners, and development teams throughout the solution lifecycle to validate requirements and support successful delivery
β’ Create detailed documentation, reports, and analysis using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
β’ Support process improvements and system enhancements across midstream energy applications
Required Qualifications
β’ Demonstrated Business Analyst experience within the natural gas or midstream energy sector
β’ Strong understanding of midstream operations, such as gas transportation, storage, scheduling, nominations, or related workflows
β’ Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word and Excel for documentation and analysis
β’ Handsβon experience using Jira to:
β’ Create and manage user stories and requirements
β’ Develop test cases and execute UAT
β’ Track defects, bugs, and release readiness
β’ Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile environments
β’ Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience supporting operational, regulatory, or complianceβdriven systems in midstream energy
β’ Familiarity with integrations, reporting, or enterprise systems used in natural gas operations
