Our client, in higher education is seeking a Business Process & Project Analyst to play a key role in driving operational improvements by gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements to inform process improvements and technology solutions; and also will support successful project delivery across the organization. This hybrid role combines business analysis and project management expertise to support Project Management Office (PMO) initiatives, improve business processes, and manage small to mid-sized projects. The ideal candidate is a proactive, problem solver, skilled communicator, capable of building trust and confidence with stakeholders across the organization and who can translate business needs into actionable solutions and support project delivery.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Process Analysis
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows.
β’ Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to gather input and validate requirements.
β’ Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for technical and operational teams.
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand operational challenges and improvement opportunities.
β’ Analyze current business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
β’ Support testing and validation efforts by reviewing test plans, validating test cases, and assist or conduct user acceptance testing (UAT).
Project Management and PMO Support
β’ Assist in project intake, prioritization, and portfolio tracking.
β’ Contributes to the development and implementation of project standards, including documentation standards, reporting templates, and governance practices.
β’ Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
β’ Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to foster trust, ensure alignment, and promote shared ownership of solutions.
β’ Partner with project managers to ensure requirements are integrated into project plans and tracked throughout the lifecycle.
β’ Promote consistency and transparency across projects through documentation and reporting.
β’ Assist in project intake, prioritization, and portfolio tracking.
β’ Contribute to change management efforts by supporting communication, training, and stakeholder engagement activities.
β’ Monitor project progress and assist in managing scope, timelines, and deliverables.
β’ Support change management efforts through communication, training, and engagement activities.
β’ Serve as a liaison between business units, technical teams, and vendors.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
β’ 5+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or process improvement.
β’ Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and analysis for small and complex projects.
β’ Experience managing or supporting small to mid-sized projects.
β’ Strong understanding of business process modeling and improvement methodologies.
β’ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build stakeholder trust.
β’ Proficiency with tools such as Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, JIRA, Confluence, or similar platforms.
β’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience supporting or establishing PMO functions is highly desirable.
β’ Experience with Team Dynamix or similar IT enterprise service management or customer relationship management platforms.
β’ Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
β’ Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.
β’ Experience in higher education, public sector, or enterprise service management environments.
