Role description
Job Title: Healthcare Business Analyst
Contract: 6 Months (with scope to extend)
Location: Southwest England (Hybrid - 3 office days per week)

We are looking for an experienced Healthcare Business Analyst to support the implementation of a clinical system within a complex healthcare environment. This role focuses on bridging the gap between clinical workflows and digital solutions, ensuring that new systems enhance patient care, streamline operational processes, and meet healthcare governance and regulatory standards.
Working closely with clinicians, operational stakeholders, and technical teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in defining requirements, supporting system procurement, and guiding the successful implementation of a dental clinical system.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead requirements gathering through workshops and interviews with clinicians, administrators, and operational stakeholders
• Analyse and document clinical workflows, translating operational needs into structured functional and technical requirements
• Map current ("as-is") clinical processes and design future ("to-be") workflows aligned with new system capabilities
• Collaborate with technical teams to translate user requirements into functional specifications and system configuration
• Act as the key liaison between clinical stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly communicated and delivered
• Support procurement activities including documentation review, requirements validation, and vendor evaluation
• Develop user stories, test plans, and documentation to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and quality assurance activities
• Support system implementation including stakeholder engagement, training coordination, and go-live support
• Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and operational documentation to support system adoption
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within healthcare or clinical systems environments
• Experience supporting digital healthcare transformation programmes or clinical system implementations
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience working with clinicians and healthcare professionals such as dentists, GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals
• Experience capturing and documenting requirements using structured techniques such as MoSCoW prioritisation, user stories, and user journey mapping
• Experience conducting clinical pathway analysis and workflow redesign to support new digital or IT services
• Experience producing detailed process maps and workflow documentation, including the use of Microsoft Visio
• Experience supporting system configuration, data migration, and integration activities within clinical systems
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and clinical information platforms
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability and clinical data standards including HL7, FHIR, SNOMED / SNODENT, and DICOM
• Experience using collaboration and delivery tools such as Jira and Confluence
• Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Ability to communicate complex technical or process information clearly to clinical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable Experience
• Experience working with dental clinical systems or dental healthcare services
• Experience supporting major digital transformation programmes within healthcare environments
• Familiarity with NHS clinical governance and safety frameworks, including healthcare data governance standards
• Experience supporting clinical system configuration, including templates, protocols, questionnaires, and reporting dashboards
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance frameworks including GDPR and Caldicott principles
• Professional certifications such as BCS Business Analysis Diploma, CBAP, PRINCE2 or PMP
