Role description
Business Analyst – Security & Compliance
$35/hr | 6+ Month Contract | 100% Remote
Our client, a leader in financial services, is seeking a Business Analyst to support security and compliance efforts within a regulated broker-dealer environment.
This role supports the cybersecurity portion of branch office exams. You will enhance assessment processes, develop documentation, and train non-technical audit teams on validating security controls aligned to FINRA, SEC, and internal standards.
This is not a hands-on engineering role. It focuses on organization, process improvement, documentation, and training within a security and compliance framework.
Ideal for a Business Analyst with exposure to security, compliance, or regulated environments who enjoys translating technical requirements into clear, structured guidance.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and refine cybersecurity assessment procedures and checklists
• Create documentation, workflows, and training materials for audit teams
• Train non-technical auditors on evaluating controls such as:
• MFA enablement (email, VPN, business applications)
• Encryption (data at rest, in transit, full disk)
• Firewall and network security basics
• Password compliance standards
• Backup validation and log management
• Translate technical security requirements into clear audit steps
• Support audit teams during branch reviews
• Maintain and update documentation repositories
Required Experience
• Mid-level; 2–5 years Business Analyst experience
• Exposure to cybersecurity fundamentals (MFA, VPN, encryption, email security, firewall basics)
• Experience training, presenting, or facilitating sessions for business stakeholders
• Strong documentation and communication skills
Preferred
• Broker-Dealer or Wealth Management experience
• Familiarity with FINRA or SEC regulatory frameworks
• Project management experience supporting security or compliance initiatives
Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
W2 employees of Eliassen Group who are regularly scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for the following benefits: medical (choice of 3 plans), dental, vision, pre-tax accounts, other voluntary benefits including life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, and sick time if required by law in the worked-in state/locality.
