Role description
Classification: Contract Contract Length: 12 Months Position Summary The Business Analyst / Senior-Level will be part of the team in Nashville, TN. In this role you will be responsible for providing data services and data analysis of clinical data as part of Registry Abstraction Services. The Registry Abstraction Services team is undergoing a project in which they are centralizing all the Abstractions across HCA. This position has a heavy focus on SQL and clinical knowledge. SQL – you will be responsible for finding source of data to populate our application and validate that data against preexisting data. Clinical knowledge – you will be responsible for interpreting functionally, what the business need is, and how the data around that is available in GCP sources its working with. Responsibilities β€’ Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. β€’ Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. β€’ Identifies and extracts all relevant data elementsβ€”structured and unstructuredβ€”from the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) β€’ Be able to validate data extracts against current registry abstracted values β€’ Works closely with Product Managers and serves as the central coordination point between data sources, business stakeholders, and the application team. Requirements β€’ 5–8 years of combined Data Analyst and Business Analyst experience (approximately 70% data-focused). β€’ Strong healthcare analytics expertise, including deep knowledge of EHR systems - how data flows in and out of EHRs, and how it is consumed, interpreted, and validated. β€’ Proven experience gathering data analysis requirements and identifying appropriate data sources within databases. β€’ Solid understanding of healthcare terminology β€’ Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries and data transformation β€’ Strong understanding of structured vs. unstructured data within enterprise data warehouses (EDW) and clinical documentation systems across hospitals β€’ Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or 6-8 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
