Role description
Job Title: Telecom Business Analyst
Experience: 10 Years+
Work Locations: London & Birmingham
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Telecom Business Analyst with deep domain expertise in the telecommunications sector to join our delivery team. You will be instrumental in driving a critical network and infrastructure transformation initiative for a major UK telco provider, focusing on enterprise-grade connectivity platforms.
About the Role
In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical architecture teams and commercial stakeholders, specifically focusing on active wholesale and B2B enterprise divisions. Your primary mandate will be to define, capture, and translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications for enterprise Ethernet products, ensuring seamless provisioning, migration and service delivery.
Responsibilities
• Requirements Elicitation & Management: Partner with product managers, network architects, and commercial stakeholders to gather and document comprehensive business, functional, and non-functional requirements for the new network ecosystem.
• Product Alignment: Leverage your deep understanding of enterprise Ethernet services (e.g., Leased Lines, E-Line, E-LAN, Dedicated Internet Access) to map out "as-is" and "to-be" processes for product fulfillment, assurance, and billing.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between business units (including wholesale and active partner divisions) and technical delivery squads. Facilitate workshops to align cross-functional teams on project scope and deliverables.
• Process Mapping & Gap Analysis: Model complex B2B telecom user journeys and technical workflows. Conduct gap analysis between legacy infrastructure and the new target architecture.
• Agile Delivery: Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical specifications. Maintain and prioritize the product backlog using tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Testing & Cutover Support: Collaborate with QA teams to define end-to-end testing frameworks to ensure successful cutovers for network applications and provisioning systems.
Mandatory Skills
Business Analysis with Telecom - OSS/BSS skillset.
Qualifications
• Domain Expertise (10 Years onwards): Proven track record as a Business Analyst within the Telecommunications industry, specifically dealing with B2B, wholesale, or enterprise network portfolios.
• Product Knowledge: Strong technical and commercial understanding of Ethernet products, fibre delivery, WAN, and core routing principles. Direct experience with Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) or similar high-capacity enterprise connections is essential.
• BSS/OSS Familiarity: Deep understanding of telecom operational and business support systems, including order-to-cash (O2C) and trouble-to-resolve (T2R) journeys.
• Agile/Scrum: Extensive experience working in Agile delivery environments, managing technical backlogs, and translating complex network requirements into consumable development tasks.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to deconstruct complex technical challenges (e.g., API integrations, network provisioning workflows, or legacy system migrations) into clear, actionable business logic.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical executive stakeholders.
