Job Title: Business Analyst / Technical Analyst Location: New York City, NY (Onsite/Hybrid) Job Type: Contract/Full Time Position Overview A leading global financial services organization is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst / Technical Analyst to support key initiatives across technology and business teams. This role requires a strong blend of business analysis, technical understanding, and stakeholder management within a fast-paced financial environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and support the delivery of high-impact projects. Key Responsibilities • Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional specifications • Create detailed documentation including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows • Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements • Support system integration, data mapping, and data analysis activities • Conduct gap analysis and recommend process improvements • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions • Assist in UAT (User Acceptance Testing), including test case creation and defect tracking • Monitor project progress and communicate updates to stakeholders • Ensure alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements Required Qualifications • Bachelor s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Analyst • Strong experience in financial services or investment banking domain • Proficiency in requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management • Experience working in Agile and/or Waterfall environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Technical Skills • Experience with SQL for data analysis and querying • Familiarity with data modeling, data mapping, and ETL processes • Understanding of APIs, system integrations, and basic architecture concepts • Experience with tools such as: • JIRA / Confluence • Excel (advanced), Visio or Lucidchart • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) is a plus Preferred Qualifications (Nice To Have) • Experience in capital markets, risk, regulatory, or trading systems • Knowledge of financial products (equities, fixed income, derivatives) • Experience with Python or scripting for data analysis • Familiarity with reporting tools (Tableau, Power BI) Soft Skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to bridge the gap between business and technical teams
