Business Analyst - Trade Surveillance - Capital Markets
6-Month Contract β Inside IR35
London based β hybrid working β 3 days a week on site
Our department is looking for a motivated Business Analyst to work with clients in the Capital Markets sector, including investment banks, asset managers, and trading platforms.
Your Role
β’ Analyse business activities and act as the bridge between trading desks, operations, compliance, and technology teams.
β’ Lead workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and define specifications.
β’ Create mapping documents and process flows for trade lifecycle activities (e.g., order capture, execution, clearing, settlement).
β’ Prepare proposals, presentations, and gap analyses for regulatory and operational initiatives.
β’ Master capital markets domain knowledge, including instruments like equities, fixed income, derivatives, and FX.
β’ Domain expertise in Trade Surveillance solutions and operating models
β’ Document and validate business requirements through interviews and focus groups.
β’ Engage with stakeholders to provide strategic insights into regulatory changes (e.g., MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
β’ Prioritise and manage a backlog of features, enhancements, and defects.
β’ Ensure delivered solutions align with business goals and compliance standards.
Requirements
β’ Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Capital Markets (10 years plus).
β’ Strong understanding and experience of Trade Surveillance Operating Models and the technologies deployed by Banks to ensure compliance
β’ Recent experience in the deployment of solutions for Wechat communications
β’ Strong understanding of trading platforms, risk systems, and post-trade processes.
β’ Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Excel, and data visualisation platforms (Power BI, Tableau).
β’ Experience with platforms like Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Murex, Calypso is a plus.
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.
β’ Certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CBAP are advantageous.
β’ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
