Business Analyst

Job Title: Business Analyst / ScrumMaster Location: Lansing, MI 48933 (Hybrid – On-site Tuesday/Wednesday; First month 5 days onsite) Duration: 1 Year Contract (Potential for Full-Time Conversion in 1–2 Years) Job Description: We are seeking a Business Analyst / ScrumMaster to join our team. This role will involve gathering and documenting business requirements, facilitating Agile ceremonies, managing project backlogs, and serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in Agile methodologies, business process analysis, Azure DevOps (or similar tools), and requirements documentation, along with a passion for delivering high-quality IT solutions within structured governance environments. Key Responsibilities: • Gather and document business requirements in alignment with established policies, standards, and templates. • Facilitate requirement gathering sessions with stakeholders and project teams. • Develop and maintain the Agile project backlog; create epics, features, and user stories. • Partner with Product Owners to prioritize work throughout the project lifecycle. • Analyze as-is and to-be processes, data flows, and system impacts. • Ensure alignment with project scope and governance requirements. • Provide input into Build vs. Buy decisions. • Support resolution of critical IT issues related to business analysis activities. • Complete and manage required project deliverables in alignment with System Engineering Methodology (SEM) standards. • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, solution architects, DBAs, developers, and QA teams to ensure clarity and scalability of solutions. Required Skills & Experience (within last 5 years): • 3+ years of Business Analyst experience • 3+ years of Quality Assurance knowledge • 3+ years of experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools (JIRA, etc.) • Strong understanding of BA, QA, and Development roles/responsibilities • Experience with as-is/to-be process documentation and content creation • Experience creating product roadmaps • Familiarity with Agile and other Project Management methodologies • Proficiency with BA tools such as Figma and Visio Additional Requirement: At the time of full-time conversion, candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
