Business Analyst β Client Portal (Contract)

About the Role
Weβre seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a Client Portal implementation for a leading global investment management firm. This is a highly visible role working closely with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and data architecture teams to define and document business requirements, coordinate deliverables, and ensure alignment across multiple project phases.
The ideal candidate is business-facing, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This is not a technical developer role, but rather a strategic liaison function connecting business teams and technical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Partner with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new processes and portal enhancements.
β’ Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements and user stories.
β’ Support two Senior BAs on the team with backlog management, process mapping, and documentation updates.
β’ Serve as a bridge between business and data architecture teams to ensure alignment on client data flows, APIs, and reporting integrations.
β’ Participate in design sessions, sprint planning, and UAT coordination, providing input on functionality and SLAs.
β’ Contribute to defining and tracking KPIs and business success criteria for portal performance and adoption.
β’ Communicate project updates, risks, and dependencies effectively across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
β’ 7+ years of Business Analysis experience, ideally within financial services, asset management, or investment operations.
β’ Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communicate complex ideas clearly to business and technical teams.
β’ Experience with SaaS platforms, client portals, or digital reporting solutions (preferred).
β’ Strong understanding of fund accounting, NAV, capital account statements, and investment data.
β’ Familiarity with APIs, data integrations, or Snowflake concepts a plus.
β’ Highly skilled in requirements documentation, process flows, and SLAs.
β’ Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation ability.
β’ Local candidates strongly preferred; must be able to work onsite 4 days/week in Boston.
