Role description
Role: Business Analyst Location: Indianapolis, IN (Remote) Duration: 12 Months Pay Rate: $43/hr on W2 Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a large-scale child welfare technology environment. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are effectively translated into system requirements and technical solutions. This role requires strong business analysis expertise, SDLC knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to quickly learn child welfare operations and information systems. Key Responsibilities • Develop a thorough understanding of agency mission, vision, goals, user groups, business processes, workflows, and supporting systems. • Analyze business operations and identify opportunities for process improvements and technology-driven solutions. • Work closely with stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements. • Create and maintain business analysis artifacts including: • Business requirements documents (BRDs) • Functional requirements • User stories • Wireframes and conceptual designs • Process workflows • Traceability matrices • Test plans and testing documentation • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. • Collaborate daily with software development, quality assurance, systems support, and project management teams. • Participate in project planning, resource planning, issue management, and status reporting. • Facilitate meetings with customers, stakeholders, and management to provide project updates and gather feedback. • Ensure business and user needs are met through timely and accurate delivery of solutions. • Support system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance activities. • Assist in developing technical standards, procedures, policies, and best practices. • Work with project managers to ensure compliance with project schedules, governance standards, and implementation methodologies. • Contribute to strategic planning, process improvement initiatives, and client relationship management. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). • Strong experience as a Business Analyst within enterprise application environments. • Expertise in business analysis methodologies and documentation standards. • Experience creating: • Wireframes • Functional and non-functional requirements • User stories • Business process workflows • Traceability matrices • Testing documentation • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). • Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments. • Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, project implementation methodologies, and business process improvement practices. • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and large project organizations.
