Business Analyst

Apex Systems is currently hiring a Senior Business Analyst to join a growing financial services client in Riverdale, UT (that is working primarily remote!) Term: 8-12+ month contract with a strong potential for extensions and FTE conversion Location: Primarily remote, with 1-2 times onsite per month in Riverdale, UT Pay range: $55-65/hr Are you a proactive, technically savvy Business Analyst who thrives in dynamic environments and knows how to drive conversations across business and IT? We’re looking for a seasoned BA to join our IT PMO team and support a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives—from system upgrades and content automation to AI-driven document management and upcoming merger integrations. What You’ll Do • Partner with Project Managers to support 3–5 concurrent projects across the full lifecycle. • Liaise between stakeholders and developers to elicit, analyze, and document requirements. • Author BRDs, FRDs, use cases, user stories, workflow diagrams, and data/process maps. • Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements, especially for APIs and integrations. • Trace data end-to-end and collaborate with developers to ensure seamless connectivity. • Engage with VPs and executive sponsors to build business cases, calculate ROI, and present project proposals. • Fill architectural gaps by identifying IT groups and resources needed to execute initiatives. • Lead requirements and sign-off meetings with diverse stakeholders and personalities. What You Bring • 10–15+ years of Business Analyst experience across multiple industries. • Strong technical acumen and understanding of systems architecture and SDLC. • Experience with API design, data mapping, web services, and integration strategy. • Familiarity with IT infrastructure, cloud/web apps, firewall access, and user group security. • Excellent documentation skills—comfortable with Waterfall and Agile hybrid environments. • Ability to convert business layer documentation into JIRA epics, features, and stories. • Confident communicator who can speak up, ask the right questions, and drive clarity. • Comfortable engaging with VPs and executive leadership, raising red flags when needed. Bonus Points • Experience in banking or financial services. • Hands-on with JIRA, Confluence, and Visio. • Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale integrations.
