Role description
Weβre looking for a hybrid BA/QA professional who thrives in modern web-application environments. This role focuses on understanding how users interact with our platform, translating business needs into actionable requirements, and validating that the product performs reliably through structured testing. Youβll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and operations to help deliver a seamless, high-quality software experience. Role will be Contract to Hire and work 2-3 days onsite in Palo Alto
What Youβll Do
Business & Product Analysis
β’ Partner with internal teams and end-users to capture requirements and clarify business goals.
β’ Break down high-level ideas into detailed user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
β’ Work directly with engineering (Angular/Spring/MySQL; similar experience with React/other DBs is also relevant) to ensure features are scoped accurately.
β’ Support ongoing Agile rituals such as backlog refinement, sprint planning, requirement reviews, and change-impact assessments.
β’ Build process diagrams, data flow visuals, and reference materials that guide development and testing efforts.
Quality Assurance
β’ Develop and run test strategies that cover functional, integration, regression, and UAT scenarios.
β’ Create test plans and test cases aligned with technical specs and user expectations.
β’ Log and track issues, ensuring defects are clearly communicated and resolved quickly.
β’ Work closely with developers to retest and validate fixes.
β’ Recommend improvements to QA workflows, automation opportunities, and quality standards.
What You Bring
β’ 2β5+ years of experience spanning both Business Analysis and QA within software development.
β’ Solid understanding of SDLC and hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum.
β’ Ability to write user stories, test cases, acceptance criteria, and related documentation.
β’ Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
β’ Working knowledge of SQL for data checks and troubleshooting.
β’ Strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tracks of work.
β’ High attention to detail with a user-focused mindset.
Bonus Points
β’ Exposure to modern front-end/back-end stacks such as Angular, React, Spring Boot, and relational databases (MySQL preferred).
β’ Experience in telecom, asset-management, or inventory-related application environments.
β’ Familiarity with automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright).
β’ API testing experience (Postman, Swagger, REST/gRPC concepts).
β’ Certifications like CBAP, ISTQB, or CSPO.
