Role description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst for a contract duration of at least 3 months for the following role to start immediately. Duties and Responsibilities - Partner with internal stakeholders, external partners, and the Technology team to analyze, define, and document business and data/reporting requirements. - Act as a liaison between business units, Technology, and program leaders to ensure alignment on insurance program needs, system capabilities, and data management. - Collaborate with program partners to document requirements, prepare test cases, support unit and user acceptance testing, and provide guidance on data-driven inquiries. - Support ad-hoc and recurring data requests from stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of reporting deliverables. - Work with business stakeholders and the Technology team to define, document, and implement business rules and processes to maintain data quality, integrity, and governance. - Participate in project meetings, supporting all phases of the life cycle including requirements, design, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support. - Assist with regulatory and bureau reporting (e.g., NISS and other vendors), ensuring compliance with state, federal, and insurance bureau requirements. - Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on P&C insurance processes. - Write clear, testable business requirements and acceptance criteria that can be effectively implemented by developers and validated by Testing teams. - Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and supporting adoption of best practices. Essential Education, Skills, and Knowledge - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). - 10+ years of experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry, with a deep understanding of industry practices, workflows, and regulatory requirements. - 5+ years of hands-on data experience, including data analysis, reporting, and validation in insurance contexts. - Proficiency in SQL for querying, data validation, and report development. - Demonstrated ability to translate complex insurance and data requirements into clear documentation, test cases, and actionable specifications. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings and recommendations to executives, business users, and technical teams. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and exposure to BI/reporting tools. - Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision while managing multiple priorities. - Experience supporting regulatory and bureau reporting for insurance organizations. - Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to foster collaboration between business and technical teams. - Detail-oriented with the ability to ask the right questions to ensure requirements, rationale, and acceptance criteria are well understood. - Enthusiastic, driven, and focused on delivering high-quality service and value to the business.
