Role description

The Metropolitan Police Service is seeking an experienced Business Change Analyst to join the Royalty and Specialist Protection (RaSP) team and play a key role in shaping how we protect royal residences across the UK. This is a unique opportunity to support operational decision-making by analysing performance and demand data, helping senior leaders understand how resources are used and where improvements can be made.
This is an initial 12-month contract with a daily rate of £440 per day via an Umbrella company (inside IR35 - PAYE is also available). The successful candidate will be required to undergo and maintain the relevant vetting (this is covered and arranged by the force).
Working Arrangements
• Blended working model: Primarily office-based (minimum 4 days/week), with flexibility based on workload. (Occasional travel to relevant sites outside of London - expenses covered)
• Confidentiality agreement required due to the sensitive nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
• Create performance dashboards using Excel and Tableau to visualise key metrics.
• Analyse demand and performance across Residential Protection teams.
• Support performance meetings by preparing materials, tracking actions, and helping facilitate monthly and quarterly reviews.
• Write clear, insightful reports for senior leadership.
• Simplify complex data to answer questions from senior officers.
• Maintain data accuracy and compliance with GDPR standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve data sharing and usage.
• Support RaSP events across the UK when required.

• Proven experience in performance analysis
Skills & Experience
• Strong analytical skills with both quantitative and qualitative data
• Excellent Excel skills (including formulas, Power Query, and data cleaning)
• Proficient in Tableau for data visualisation
• Skilled in writing reports and identifying trends
• Organised and capable of managing meetings and follow-ups
• Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK
• Confident discussing inclusion and diversity
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Creative thinker with strong attention to detail
