Business Data Analyst

Business Data Analyst & Platform Specialist Location – Fountain Valley, CA Long term contract RESPONSIBILIES: • Business Data Analysis & Reporting • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver actionable insights. • Design, build, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that support decision-making. • Analyze existing models runs, performance metrics, KPIs, and data flow on regular basis to assure operational stability. • Translate business questions into analytical solutions using SQL, Alteryx, and other tools. • Platform & User Support • Administer Tableau Server and Alteryx Server, including user access, permissions, and scheduled workflows. • Serve as the first point of contact for user support, resolving tickets and inquiries related to data tools and dashboards. • Monitor platform performance and coordinate with IT or vendors to resolve technical issues. • Automation & Process Improvement • Develop lightweight scripts or workflows (e.g., SQL, Python, Alteryx) to automate data preparation and reporting tasks. • Document processes, best practices, and platform configurations to support knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. • 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or analytics support role • Proficiency in Tableau (dashboard development and server usage). • Experience with Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server administration. • Strong SQL skills; familiarity with Python or other scripting languages is a plus • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Familiarity with data governance, access control, and platform security • Experience working with IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure) • Exposure to orchestration tools and distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Airflow, Spark, and Hadoop • Hands-on use of tools like JupyterHub and Hue for SQL-based querying and data exploration • Experience with version control systems, including GitLab, for collaborative development and workflow management
