About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst with a strong blend of user experience, business analysis, and data analytics expertise. This hybrid role will be pivotal in translating business needs into secure, user-centered analytics solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders, analyze complex data sets, and deliver actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, technically savvy, and driven by empathy for the customer. You will ensure that our analytics solutions are robust, accessible, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Requirements Gathering: Elicit, document, and validate business requirements through interviews, workshops, and surveys. Create detailed specifications, use cases, user stories, and process flows.
β’ Data Analysis:
β’ Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets.
β’ Analyze data for trends, patterns, data quality issues, and integration opportunities.
β’ Prepare clear, data-driven reports and presentations for stakeholders.
β’ Collaborate with data engineers and modelers to ensure data quality and integrity.
β’ Understand data normalization, denormalization, and ETL processes.
β’ Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements. Measure impact and ensure metadata and data governance are maintained.
β’ Project Support: Assist project managers with scope, timelines, deliverables, and risk tracking. Facilitate communication between business and development teams.
β’ Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships across all levels, manage expectations, and address concerns.
Qualifications:
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
β’ Advanced skills in SQL and Power BI; experience with Tableau a plus.
β’ Knowledge of Power BI security, environment migration, and user experience best practices.
β’ Experience in data modeling, ETL development, data governance, and addressing data quality issues.
β’ Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
β’ Previous roles as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or BI Engineer preferred.
β’ Degree in Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
β’ Waste Management experience is a plus.
β’ High school diploma or GED required; Bachelorβs degree preferred.
β’ Valid driverβs license.
