(Remote) Duration: 12Months Contract Job Description: Terms of Employment • W2 Contract, 12 months • This position is hybrid, with Wednesdays being in-office. • The office is located in Houston, Texas. Overview • Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support Mass Market Operations in a Government Aggregation (Gov Agg) Quality Control role. This is a high-impact opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to safeguard enrollment and billing accuracy within a major retail energy environment, ensuring compliance and seamless utility operations. • The primary scope of this position involves reviewing and validating high-volume accounts, contracts, and enrollments to ensure absolute alignment with utility requirements. The contractor will handle exception processing, investigate data discrepancies across multiple sources, and ensure all operational records are complete, consistent, and audit-ready. Additionally, this individual will act as a key liaison, leading weekly stand-up meetings with business stakeholders to present performance metrics, trends, and key operational issues. Responsibilities • Perform high-volume quality control reviews on account setup, contract data, and customer enrollments to ensure compliance with utility regulations. • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies or data exceptions before they impact downstream billing or enrollment timelines. • Analyze data across multiple disparate systems and sources to maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready records. • Partner and coordinate with internal teams and external utilities to move operational workflows forward and resolve issues quickly. • Lead weekly stand-up meetings with cross-functional business stakeholders to present Government Aggregation performance, operational trends, and critical issues. • Document quality control processes and review outcomes with a high level of precision. Required Skills & Experience • Bachelor's degree • Must have direct operational experience within the retail energy sector, specifically working with regulated market processes and utility interactions. • Proven experience analyzing and managing large data sets in Microsoft Excel (including advanced functions like VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables). • Working knowledge of SQL as a user, with the ability to write basic queries, analyze data sets, and extract insights to support operational decisions. • Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in both data review and documentation. • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to lead meetings and present findings to cross-functional stakeholder groups. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple competing priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills & Experience • Prior experience specifically focused on Government Aggregation (Gov Agg) billing, enrollment, or quality control processes.
