Role description
Role: Business Data Analyst Visa Requirement: U.S. Citizens only Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required Work Type: Remote Job Summary Rockwoods is seeking a Business Data Analyst III for a federal project to deliver advanced analytical support across multiple portfolio programs, driving data-informed decision-making and operational improvements. This role combines business analysis, performance metrics evaluation, and process optimization with strong stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will be able to translate complex data into actionable insights and confidently present and defend recommendations to leadership. Responsibilities • Provide analytical support across portfolio programs, including business case development and project planning • Conduct business process reengineering (BPR) to enhance efficiency and effectiveness • Analyze IT performance metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities • Develop and present data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders • Support portfolio tracking and reporting using enterprise task management tools • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align analysis with mission objectives • Utilize tools such as Power BI and ServiceNow for data visualization and management • Track project performance, milestones, and deliverables across multiple systems Education and Experience • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in business/data analysis or a related field • At least four (4) years of experience supporting DLA EFM enterprise tools and capabilities • Minimum of two (2) years supporting DLA Agile development programs • Experience working within government or large-scale enterprise environments • Hands-on experience with data analysis, reporting, and portfolio management tools Required Skills • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills • Experience with MS Power BI and other data visualization tools • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) • Knowledge of project and portfolio management concepts • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow (SPM, ITSM), SharePoint, and task tracking systems • Ability to perform business process reengineering (BPR) • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to defend analytical findings • Understanding of Agile methodologies and development environments • Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority (e.g., data analytics, project management, or related field)
