Business Data Analyst

Job Title: Business Data Analyst Duration: 10 Months Location: Austin, Tx Key Responsibilities • Analyze business objectives, requirements, processes, and pain points to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. • Conduct cost/benefit analysis of alternative solutions and provide recommendations. • Document current state processes, data flows, and system functionalities. • Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable business requirements. • Write Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria to capture functional and non-functional requirements. • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities. • Prepare detailed documentation, including business requirement documents, process flows, and data mapping. • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to gather requirements and validate findings. • Review system capabilities and specifications to assess feasibility of requested changes. • Support QA and development teams by clarifying requirements and ensuring deliverables meet business needs. • Present findings, recommendations, and requirements to stakeholders in clear and accessible formats. Required Skills/Qualification • 8+ years of Hands-on experience as a business data analyst in the Information Technology industry, demonstrating strong analytical and documentation skills. • 8+ years of Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to analyze complex data-driven business problems and recommend actionable solutions. • 8+ years of Experience designing and optimizing data workflows and data management processes using modeling or mapping tools. • 8+ years of Well-versed in writing Epics and User Stories, including acceptance criteria, to effectively communicate functional and non-functional requirements to development and quality assurance teams • 8+ years of Experience creating and maintaining data-related documentation including data dictionaries, business requirement documents, and data mapping specifications. • 8+ years of Experience designing and presenting visual data models and dashboards to communicate trends, performance, and project timelines. • 8+ years of Demonstrated ability to lead data-focused meetings and interviews, document outcomes, and drive resolution of data-related issues. Preferred Skills/Qualification • 4+ years of Bachelor's degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted. • 4+ years of Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple data projects or assignments concurrently. • 3+ years of Working knowledge of eligibility rules for SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF programs, with experience interpreting and applying state and federal guidelines. • 3+ years of Proven experience interpreting and applying policy within an integrated eligibility case management system.
