Role description
About The Role This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position. FDM is seeking a Business Data Analyst located in Boston to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended. This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week. We are looking for a Business Data Analyst to help execute our Investor & Client Data Renovation Project, supporting the VP, Investor & Client Data Owner. We are seeking a skilled and analytical Business Data Analyst to join our team. As a Business Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in gathering business requirements, documenting how client data flows across people/process/systems, analyzing complex datasets, deriving insights, and providing actionable recommendations to drive business growth and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, excellent communication skills, and a passion for turning data into actionable insights. Responsibilities: Data Analysis: β€’ Collect, organize, and analyze large datasets from various sources to uncover insights and trends. β€’ Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to solve business problems. β€’ Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Reporting and Visualization: β€’ Create clear and compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders. β€’ Design and maintain automated reporting systems to streamline data analysis processes. β€’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and ensure data accuracy and relevance. Business Insights: β€’ Translate data insights into actionable recommendations to drive business decisions and strategies. β€’ Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives and solve specific business problems. β€’ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement or optimization Cross-functional Collaboration: β€’ Work closely with stakeholders across departments to understand business needs and requirements. β€’ Collaborate with data scientists, business users, and other team members to ensure data integrity and accessibility. β€’ Provide guidance and support to teams on data-related matters, including data interpretation and best practices. About You Qualifications: β€’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. β€’ 2-5 years of proven experience as a data analyst or related role, preferably in financial services. β€’ Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as SQL, Python, R, or similar. β€’ Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar. β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets. β€’ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. β€’ Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and integrity. β€’ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
