Business and Data Analyst
Location: New York, NY (1633 Broadway)
Hybrid: 3x
Duration: 12 Months
Type: Contract to Hire
Pay Range: $60/hr-65/hr on W2 (DOE)
About: This role is a data-heavy Business Analyst working in the clientβs AML & Financial Crimes Technology group, responsible for translating compliance requirements into data specifications, supporting data engineering teams, troubleshooting data issues, and ensuring solutions meet regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
β’ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications
β’ Conduct analysis of business requirements and processes for data centric projects
β’ Responsible for gathering and writing data requirements.
β’ Translate business requirements into data mapping specifications
β’ Develop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration used in the business domain
β’ Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution
β’ Work with Data Engineers who will implement technical solutions to meet business requirements
β’ Support developers with data subject expertise
β’ Support phases of project development, from analysis and design to testing and implementation
β’ Ensure that technology solutions meet the defined requirements.
β’ Understanding of data quality and data governance
β’ Provide ongoing support and training to business users on the new or revised systems.
Required Skills:
β’ Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling
β’ Strong SQL query skills
β’ Experience with SDLC
β’ Strong analytical, profiling and troubleshooting skills
β’ Strong knowledge with Big Data/Hadoop platform
β’ Strong business analysis and requirements definition skills
β’ Strong stakeholder presentation skills
β’ Solid organization and planning skills
β’ At least 7 years' financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services data
β’ Good verbal and written communication skills
Desired Skills (Not required):
β’ Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
β’ Experience with Agile project delivery
β’ Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python)
