Join Our Team as a Business/Data Analyst – Make an Impact Supporting Enterprise Data Solutions!
Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights? We’re seeking a talented Business/Data Analyst to join our Enterprise Shared Analytics Marts (ESAM) team within Enterprise Data and Information Services (EDIS). This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that power enterprise-wide reporting, analytics, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. Based ideally at our Brooklyn, OH location, but open to candidates in Columbus, OH, Buffalo, NY, or Albany, NY, this position is perfect for professionals eager to contribute to enterprise data initiatives supporting business growth and innovation.
What You’ll Do:
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document data and business requirements.
• Take ownership of end-to-end data attribution, source-to-target mapping, and translating complex business needs into detailed technical specifications.
• Develop and support SQL logic, data validation rules, and mapping guidance for data engineering.
• Assist in designing logical and physical data models, including entity-relationship diagrams.
• Support solution design aligned with business goals, data standards, and optimized user experience.
• Lead review sessions for requirements and mapping, ensuring quality, consistency, and traceability.
• Perform thorough data profiling, analysis, and validation to ensure data quality and identify downstream impacts.
• Support testing phases (SIT and UAT) by creating test scenarios, validating results, and helping resolve issues.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders and project teams.
• Apply Agile and SDLC best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
• Mentor junior analysts and help foster continuous improvement in data processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree with 7+ years of experience in Business or Data Analysis, or Master’s Degree with 4+ years in relevant fields.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and translating requirements.
• Experience with data mapping, data modeling, and enterprise data platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery), is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
• Industry experience in banking or financial services.
• Deep understanding of enterprise data supply chains and downstream impacts.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence.
• Knowledge of BI tools like Tableau, and data automation for validation.
• Understanding of SDLC, security, risk management, and IT controls.
• Experience with Ab Initio, Mainframe systems, or other related technologies is a bonus.
