Business Intelligence Analyst

📍 Birmingham, AL | Hybrid 3 Days Onsite 🕒 Contract-to-Hire Lead Analytics in a Major Retail Digital Transformation A nationally recognized retail organization headquartered in Birmingham is investing heavily in its data capabilities and building a modern data lakehouse from the ground up. This is a high impact opportunity to help shape how data drives decision making across the business. You will work closely with senior leadership within Data and Analytics to define the analytical roadmap and ensure the new lakehouse delivers measurable business value. What You Will Do: • Partner with stakeholders across merchandising, marketing, operations, and finance to gather and translate analytical requirements • Design and deliver executive level dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar tools • Perform deep dive and ad hoc analysis that influences strategic decisions • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering to align pipelines and data models with business needs • Build strong understanding of retail data and operational workflows • Promote a data driven culture through training, enablement, and best practices • Support data governance and data quality initiatives This role blends business strategy, hands on analytics, and cross functional leadership. What you bring: • Experience as an Analytics Manager, BI Analyst, or similar role • Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis • Python experience is a strong plus • Advanced Excel capability • Expertise in at least one major BI or data visualization platform • Strong communication skills across technical and non technical audiences • Retail industry experience preferred
