Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to support enterprise reporting, data analysis, and performance measurement initiatives within a large, complex organization. This role is responsible for developing dashboards, analyzing operational and financial data, and providing actionable insights that support informed decision-making across departments.
The Business Intelligence Analyst collaborates with business units, IT teams, finance, and leadership to translate data into meaningful reports and visualizations. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple data requests in a structured and deadline-driven public-sector environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3β5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, reporting, or related analytical roles
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, data extraction, and analysis
Experience developing dashboards and visual reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
Experience working with large datasets from ERP, HRIS, financial, or operational systems
Demonstrated ability to gather business requirements and translate them into reporting solutions
Experience performing data validation, quality assurance, and reconciliation processes
Ability to identify trends, anomalies, and performance insights within operational and financial data
Familiarity with KPI development and performance measurement frameworks
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modeling)
Ability to maintain data confidentiality and comply with internal governance standards
Experience Preferences
Experience within a public-sector, governmental, transportation agency environment
Familiarity with transit operations, service performance metrics, or capital project reporting
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or workforce analytics initiatives
Knowledge of basic data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
Experience using cloud-based analytics environments (e.g., Azure or similar platforms)
Relevant certifications in data analytics or business intelligence
Physical Requirements
Ability to work at a computer for extended periods
Ability to analyze detailed reports and datasets for sustained periods
