Role description
Job Title: Data Analyst II/ BI Analyst with Utility Experience
Location: (Remote)
Duration: 6+ Months
Department: 12 developers (adding 3 Analysts that need to take over work that has been given to Data Scientists so the Data Scientists can work on what they need to do)
IT that does analytics team - focuses on electric distribution and work management insights (electric operations, planning, and operations on electric side & support work management - support planning (scheduling department))
team that is heavy on data scientists modeling, etc.
have quite a backlog of Power BI work that needs to be done that is currently being done by data scientists and they need to hire data analysts to perform power creation, power BI transition/updates for data sources transitioning from old to new data sources
Responsibilities:
• work with stakeholders of electric distribution and work management teams and build relationships and get to know their requirements on Power BI
• scrum architecture - stand ups - no in person meetings required
• someone with advanced power bi (inherited Power BI that uses data sources that have large pipelines feeding them with multiple steps and python code)- reverse engineer that and understand what is happening with that data and switch it over to the new data source and create SQL queries (run against new data sources)
• need to know some python to interpret what was being done on the old pipeline to then convert and transfer over to the new pipeline of data
• Power BI - maintain complicated and complex pipelines leading into them (heavy on data side) - being able to understand and make sense of data sets and reverse engineer the pipelines and understand how to combine data over to the new data pipelines
Skills:
• 5+ years Power BI experience (very advanced)
• Python - must need to know how to read it and understand it (basic skills, advanced skills not required)
• SAP
• Utilities/electric distribution knowledge experience would be 'nice to have'
