Business Intelligence Analyst (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary:
This position serves as a critical bridge between business operations and technology solutions, focusing on the analysis, design, implementation, and ongoing support of business applications. The role requires a unique blend of data analytics expertise and supply chain knowledge to drive strategic decision-making and operational excellence. Working closely with stakeholders across all business functions, this individual will translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions while supporting highly complex business processes. The position demands someone who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and can quickly adapt to evolving priorities while managing multiple concurrent projects. Success in this role requires the ability to balance technical proficiency with strong business acumen, particularly in supply chain operations, to deliver solutions that enhance competitive advantage and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborate with key stakeholders across all business functions to align technology solutions with overarching business strategies
Gather and document requirements from business units and translate them into clear specifications for programmers and developers
Prepare comprehensive cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to support system implementation decisions
Extract and analyze data to support critical business decisions and strategic planning initiatives
Build, update, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions to provide actionable insights
Support order fulfillment managers with daily operational tasks and data-driven problem solving
Demonstrate informed knowledge of business functions to identify and resolve problems while capitalizing on improvement opportunities
Support one or more highly complex business processes, particularly within supply chain operations
Participate as a project team member on multiple concurrent initiatives, meeting aggressive deadlines
Serve as a liaison between the business community and IT organization to deliver technical solutions that meet user needs
Work with complex datasets to generate meaningful reports and analytics that drive operational decisions
Navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly in fast-moving environments while maintaining quality deliverables
Requirements:
5-7 years of relevant professional experience required
Demonstrated experience combining data analytics with supply chain operations strongly preferred
Background supporting supply chain operations such as supply chain data, reporting, master data, or process analysis
Proven track record working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with quick learning capabilities
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
Data analysis and reporting with a minimum of 3 years of experience
Supply chain operations knowledge with a minimum of 3 years of experience
Microsoft Office suite proficiency with a minimum of 3 years of experience
Power BI development and maintenance capabilities
Basic knowledge of programming languages to comprehend code and understand basic functions
Strong analytical skills to solve technical problems and understand complex details
Project management abilities to handle diverse projects simultaneously
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to relate to stakeholders at varying technical knowledge levels
Ability to analyze complex situations and conduct research using multiple sources to arrive at innovative solutions
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques
Ability to work effectively during PST core business hours for team collaboration
