Role description
Business Intelligence Analyst | Renewable Energy | Hybrid (2-3 days) in Manchester | 6 month Contract |£500/day Inside IR35
A Business Intelligence Analyst is needed for a Manchester‑based Energy programme, as the Business Intelligence Analyst you will be contributing to the development and delivery of the Business Intelligence platform, working as part of a centre of excellence and collaborating with Data Analysts, Engineers, and business stakeholders. The role blends stakeholder engagement, requirement definition, and hands‑on BI development. You’ll support a self‑service BI environment across multiple business lines, including Energy, FX, Equities, Commodities, Risk, and Finance, helping stakeholders adopt and utilise modern data tools.
Contract Details
• Location: Manchester, 2–3 days onsite
• Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
• Duration: 6 months rolling, ASAP Start
Business Intelligence Analyst position requires someone confident in gathering and certifying requirements, shaping low‑level design, and delivering prototypes. You’ll be extracting and analysing data using SQL, building Power BI dashboards, and working with ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory or SSIS. Agile delivery experience is essential.
Key Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate brings strong Power BI capability, including modelling, visualisation, security, and administration. You’ll need solid DAX and Power Query skills for transformation work, alongside advanced SQL (SQL, T‑SQL, PL/SQL). Experience with ETL tooling, dataflows, datasets, and Kimball methodology is important.
A PL‑300 certification is required. A background in Energy trading will be a significant advantage given the business context. As well as being within an hour or so from Manchester.
