Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid)
Duration: 6+ months
The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for delivering end-to-end business intelligence solutions that support customer retention and churn analysis. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, developing scalable data models, and translating churn-related data into clear, actionable insights through dashboards and reports. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimal guidance, manage ambiguity, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Business Intelligence & Analytics
β’ Design, develop, and maintain reports, queries, and dashboards by consolidating data from multiple sources with minimal guidance.
β’ Translate complex churn-related metrics and analyses into clear visualizations that enable business teams to quickly derive insights.
β’ Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing BI assets, including dashboards, reports, and queries.
β’ Build and maintain data pipelines using SQL and BigQuery to collect, transform, and organize customer churn data into well-structured, documented tables.
β’ Develop Looker dashboards and reports, as well as Google Sheetsβbased reporting, driven by defined business requirements.
β’ Create and document data models that support effective visualization and interpretation of churn metrics.
β’ Consult with stakeholders and decision-makers to identify data sources, define required data elements, and establish data validation standards with minimal supervision.
β’ Design and enhance business intelligence infrastructure to improve data gathering, storage, and retrieval.
β’ Develop data models that support scalable reporting and advanced analytics use cases.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ Strong information gathering and analytical skills.
β’ Proficiency in business intelligence tools and methodologies.
β’ Experience with data modeling, database design, and data validation.
β’ Advanced data analysis and synthesis capabilities.
β’ Strong data visualization and BI communication skills.
β’ Effective stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Ability to manage tasks independently with sound project management skills.
β’ Solid technical skills related to analytics, data pipelines, and BI platforms.
Preferred / Strongly Desired Skills
β’ Experience with SQL.
β’ Hands-on experience with BigQuery for querying and building data pipelines.
β’ Proven experience building dashboards and reports in Looker.
β’ Strong working knowledge of Google Sheets for reporting and analysis.
β’ Experience writing scripts and supporting custom BI workflows in a Google ecosystem.
