Role: Business Intelligence Analyst
Location: San Leandro, CA (1 day onsite/week)
Duration: 6+ Months
Summary: We are seeking an experienced Information Systems Coordinator (ISC) to support a Business Intelligence (BI) organization by leading and managing analytics requests across internal and external partners. This role serves as a strategic thought partner and liaison between program stakeholders, analytics teams, and IT, translating complex data needs into actionable insights and effective data visualizations. The position focuses heavily on analytics derived from integrated, cross-sector data sources, including health and social data exchanges, and plays a key role in guiding stakeholders on how to best leverage data for program evaluation, performance management, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Program & Analytics Coordination
• Lead and oversee analytics and reporting service delivery.
• Act as the primary liaison between stakeholders and BI/IT teams.
• Ensure deliverables align with program and organizational goals.
Project & Service Management
• Manage analytics intake, prioritization, and documentation.
• Track deliverables, timelines, and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate meetings, communications, and staff assignments.
Data Translation & Visualization
• Translate business needs into technical and reporting requirements.
• Refine data visualizations for clarity and actionable insights.
• Recommend enhanced analytics using integrated, cross-sector data.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Core Competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to explain complex technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills (Preferred):
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with cloud and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Azure Synapse, and Snowflake.
• Data visualization experience using Power BI (DAX), Tableau, or Qlik.
• Familiarity with ticketing or work management tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Experience with data schema design and dimensional data modeling.
Education & Experience:
• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of experience in data management, reporting, or analytics.
• 2+ years of experience in healthcare, public sector, or related informatics or performance management environments.
• 3+ years of experience using SQL and one or more programming languages such as Python or Java.
• 3+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).
• 2+ years of experience in data modeling and schema design.
