Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst / Developer
San Diego, CA - Hybrid/Remote
Schedule: Standard Office Hours
Duration: 2-Month Contract (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)
Pay Range: $46 - $58/hr(DOE)
In this role, you will support the development of a KPI dashboard that consolidates data from multiple systems across our biotech client's organization. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to design, develop, and deliver data-driven insights that enhance decision-making and operational visibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and deploy KPI dashboards using Tableau or comparable BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Looker).
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple internal systems and databases.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and aggregation.
• Use JQL (Jira Query Language) and Python scripts or APIs to integrate data from Jira and Jama Connect.
• Partner with Product, Quality, Security, and Operations teams to define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across multiple sources.
• Deliver scalable and maintainable dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights.
Required Knowledge and Skills
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Tableau (or other BI tools), Python, and JQL.
• Experience with BI development, data analytics, and handling complex datasets.
• Familiarity with data transformation and automation using APIs and scripting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with data modeling and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS Redshift).
• Background in metrics reporting for product, security, or quality domains.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a BI Analyst, BI Developer, or Data Analyst.
