Role description
Job Title: Senior Power BI Data Visualization Lead
Location: Newark, NJ (Hybrid – Local or willing to travel as needed)
Duration: 6 Months (Possible Extension)
Need local candidates who can work on W2
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop advanced Power BI dashboards for operational, regulatory, and performance analytics.
Lead BI strategy, governance, and visualization standards across the enterprise.
Build optimized data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations.
Integrate Power BI with systems such as Maximo, GIS, ADMS/OMS, CIS, and data lakes.
Automate recurring reporting processes and enhance data reliability.
Mentor junior developers and promote data-driven decision-making.
Present analytical insights to executives and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
9+ years in BI/analytics; 5+ years hands-on Power BI development.
Proven experience in utility industry reporting (electric, gas, or water).
Strong skills in SQL, DAX, data modeling, and data warehousing.
Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
Preferred:
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) certification.
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric.
Familiarity with utility systems (Maximo, GIS, ADMS/OMS, CIS, SCADA).
