Job Description – Power BI Developer (IBM DB2 / Financial Reporting) Job Title Power BI Developer – IBM DB2 & Financial Reporting Location Florida City, FL (Onsite) Duration 6+ Months Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Business Intelligence, IBM DB2 databases, SQL development, and financial reporting analytics. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing enterprise-level dashboards, reporting solutions, dataflows, and data transformation processes while collaborating with technical teams and business stakeholders. The candidate should possess hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, data modeling, T-SQL development, and legacy reporting environments including WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS systems. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. • Create and manage paginated reports and Power BI dataflows. • Analyze current data environments and identify transformation requirements prior to dashboard development. • Collaborate with business users and management teams to define reporting roadmaps and analytics strategies. • Analyze existing reports and improve reporting processes based on evolving business needs. • Automate data transformation and reporting workflows to reduce dependency on manual Excel-based analysis. • Convert WebFOCUS and Mainframe FOCUS queries into optimized T-SQL queries. • Work closely with database administrators to create database views, stored procedures, and optimized reporting structures. • Analyze financial and operational data to improve reporting accuracy and data models. • Administer and maintain Power BI dedicated workspaces and reporting environments. • Support integration of Power BI with Microsoft tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps, Teams, and PowerPoint. • Train end users and business teams on Power BI reporting and dashboard usage. • Participate in Agile/SCRUM ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Required Skills & Qualifications • Minimum 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence and reporting solutions. • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience developing dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. • Strong experience with IBM DB2 databases. • Advanced SQL and T-SQL development skills. • Experience creating paginated reports in Power BI. • Strong understanding of data governance and data management best practices. • Experience with Data Warehousing concepts, Operational Data Stores, Data Lakes, and Master Data Management. • Experience working with financial data including General Ledger, purchasing, revenue, or ERP systems. • Knowledge of OLAP cubes, Star Schema, and Snowflake Schema. • Experience integrating Power BI with Microsoft Power Platform tools. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience working with multiple data sources and enterprise reporting systems. • Familiarity with Mainframe flat files and legacy systems. • Experience working in Agile/SCRUM environments. Preferred Skills • Experience with Oracle Data Warehouse environments. • Knowledge of mainframe programming languages and supporting systems. • Experience with ERP financial systems. • Experience with WebFOCUS 9 reporting tools. • Public sector or government project experience preferred.
