Job Description
The Data Warehouse Business Analyst / Reporting Analyst supports the Data Warehouse Team, which delivers critical data used in eligibility determinations, reporting, and program oversight for public assistance programs. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business needs into actionable data, reporting, and analytics solutions. The analyst leverages SQL-based tools to perform data analysis, create reports and dashboards, validate data quality, and ensure compliance with federal and state requirements.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Collaborate with business users, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business, reporting, and data requirements.
β’ Translate business needs into detailed reporting, ETL, and analytics requirements to support eligibility determinations and program management.
β’ Develop, execute, and maintain ad hoc SQL queries to extract, analyze, and validate data from the Eligibility Data Warehouse.
β’ Design, create, and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL-based reporting tools to support operational and regulatory reporting needs.
β’ Perform data quality checks, troubleshoot reporting issues, and ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
β’ Assist stakeholders with data interpretation and provide guidance on the appropriate use of reports and analytics.
β’ Support ongoing enhancements, integrations, and process improvements related to data reporting and analytics solutions.
β’ Participate in gap analysis, change management activities, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
β’ Differentiate between system defects and new or enhanced business requirements and support appropriate resolution efforts.
β’ Design, develop, and execute test plans; create or collect test data; and perform testing to validate application logic and reporting accuracy.
β’ Identify and document data security requirements and ensure adherence to applicable security standards.
β’ Develop training materials and deliver training or technical support to end users on reporting tools, processes, and best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
β’ Strong experience in business and data analysis within a data warehouse or reporting environment.
β’ Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
β’ Experience creating reports and dashboards using SQL-based reporting tools.
β’ Ability to translate complex business requirements into clear technical and reporting specifications.
β’ Knowledge of data quality assurance, testing methodologies, and SDLC processes.
β’ Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Experience working in government, healthcare, or public assistance program environments is preferred.
