Company: One of Our Clients Job Description: Dashboard QA Engineer (Data / BI Focus) Location: Basking Ridge, NJ (Hybrid, 2–3 days onsite) Duration: 12+ Months (Extendable) Pay Rate: $55.00 – 65.00/hr on W2 Role Overview We are seeking a hands-on, data-focused Dashboard QA Engineer to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of enterprise dashboards. You will be responsible for validating data logic, investigating discrepancies, and testing dashboard behavior under real-world scenarios, not just executing predefined test cases. The ideal candidate is: • Strong in data validation using SQL or excel pivoting • Comfortable working independently with minimal guidance • Naturally curious and analytical, with a mindset to challenge results and uncover issues You will work closely with Dashboard Developers, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, trusted analytics solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and execute scenario-based and exploratory testing for dashboards (not just scripted testing) • Validate KPI calculations, aggregations, joins, and filters using SQL against underlying data sources • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies between dashboards and source systems • Perform targeted functional testing, including: • filter and parameter behavior • drill-down and interaction logic • cross-dashboard consistency • Conduct regression testing across releases to ensure stability of existing dashboards • Identify edge cases, unexpected behaviors, and data inconsistencies • Develop and maintain reusable SQL validation scripts for key metrics and dashboards • Contribute to test automation efforts using tools such as Wiiisdom, Selenium, or similar • Document defects, findings, and validation results clearly in JIRA/Confluence • Collaborate with developers and data engineers to debug issues and improve data quality Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field • 3+ years of experience in BI / data / dashboard testing (Tableau, Power BI, or similar) • joins, aggregations, subqueries • ability to validate KPIs and troubleshoot data discrepancies independently • Proven experience in data validation and analytics QA, not just UI testing • Experience with both manual and exploratory testing approaches • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and Excel for test tracking and documentation • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., Redshift, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.) • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and investigate issues without step-by-step guidance Preferred Qualifications • Experience testing dashboards in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker • Experience with dashboard automation testing tools such as Wiiisdom • Experience building or maintaining SQL-based validation frameworks • Background in pharmaceutical / clinical / regulated data environments • Exposure to data pipelines or data engineering concepts Regards, Prateek Pampattiwar Recruitment Specialist Net2Source Inc.
