Business Intelligence Developer

Scope of Work The Business Intelligence Developer plays a key role in enabling data-driven decision making across the organization. This individual will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions including dashboards, analytics applications, and data integration workflows that transform complex data into meaningful insights. Working closely with business leaders and technical teams, this role helps ensure data is accessible, accurate, and actionable across the organization. The ideal candidate enjoys solving business problems with data and has experience building modern BI solutions using tools such as Power BI, the Microsoft Power Platform, or similar analytics and data visualization technologies. This position also contributes to broader data initiatives including analytics enablement, data quality improvement, regulatory reporting support, and the adoption of self-service analytics tools across the organization. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of professional experience, or 7+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence, analytics, data visualization, data engineering, or similar roles. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. • Demonstrated experience developing business intelligence or analytics solutions that support business decision-making. • Strong experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms. Experience with Power BI is strongly preferred. • Experience building dashboards, reports, or analytic applications that present complex data in a clear and actionable format. • Working knowledge of SQL, data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and ETL / data integration processes. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex data challenges. • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into insights for non-technical stakeholders and business leaders. • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Azure, SharePoint, or the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, etc.) is beneficial. • Experience with Alteryx or other data preparation / workflow automation tools is a plus. • Experience developing Power Apps (Canvas or Model-driven apps) or other low-code application platforms is helpful but not required. • Understanding of data governance, security practices, and regulatory considerations within a professional services or financial environment is beneficial. • Must understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and applicable State and Federal regulations related to the role. • Principal Responsibilities • Design, develop, and enhance business intelligence dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility into key business metrics, trends, and opportunities. • Build and support Power Platform solutions such as Power Apps and automated workflows that improve business processes and operational efficiency. • Develop analytics workflows and data preparation processes using tools such as Alteryx or comparable platforms to enable scalable analytics and self-service reporting. • Partner with business stakeholders, including leadership and operational teams, to understand reporting needs and deliver impactful data solutions. • Integrate and manage data from multiple internal and external systems, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. • Apply best practices in data modeling, ETL processes, and analytics design to ensure scalable and maintainable BI solutions. • Monitor dashboard usage, user feedback, and performance metrics to continually improve analytics solutions. • Support organizational standards for data governance, security, and privacy. • Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in business intelligence, analytics, and data platforms. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
