About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Power BI Developer with 8–10 years of experience to lead the development of enterprise-grade analytics solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, remote environment and is passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights using the latest MS tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build Power BI reports and dashboards using star schema modeling and advanced DAX.
• Develop ETL processes using Power Query/M and integrate data from various sources including SQL and Azure Data Factory (ADF).
• Optimize performance using VertiPaq, DAX Studio, and Performance Analyzer.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage dataset permissions and sensitivity labels.
• Create intuitive and accessible visual experiences using bookmarks, drill-throughs, tooltips, and field parameters.
• Manage Power BI Service components: workspaces, app publishing, scheduled refreshes, and gateways.
• Ensure high-quality delivery through testing, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Stay current with MS Fabric, Copilot, and other emerging tools in the Power BI ecosystem.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
8–10 years of hands-on experience with Power BI and enterprise BI development.
Strong proficiency in:
• Power BI Desktop (DAX, Power Query/M, star schema modeling)
• SQL (joins, window functions, CTEs, data profiling)
• ADF for data ingestion
• Performance tuning and optimization
• Security & governance (RLS, sensitivity labels)
• Power BI Service (publishing, refresh, gateways)
• Testing & documentation best practices
Nice-to-Have Skills
• Experience with Copilot/AI in Power BI
• Awareness of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse, Direct Lake)
• Familiarity with SSAS Cubes, Tabular Editor, and advanced DAX patterns
• Knowledge of Azure stack (ADLS, OneLake, Synapse, Databricks)
• Ability to use Python/R for custom visuals
• Experience with usage monitoring and data quality dashboards
• Strong stakeholder engagement and storytelling with data
