End Client: Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Job Title: Sr. Power Platform Developer Duration: 11/20/2025 – 06/30/2026 Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid – onsite up to 3 days/week) Position Type: Contract Interview Type: Both Web Cam and In-Person Department Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Scope of Project The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Platform Developer. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, configuring, and optimizing Power Platform applications including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse, and Dynamics 365. This is a hands-on development role requiring expertise in Microsoft technologies, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills for collaboration across technical and business teams. Responsibilities • Develop and configure Power Apps (Canvas & Model-Driven) and Power Automate (Flows). • Create and manage Power Pages for both internal and external portals. • Design and implement integrations leveraging Dataverse and related data services. • Customize and configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications (Forms, Views, Plug-ins, Workflows, BPFs). • Utilize Microsoft Copilot Studio for automation and intelligent application experiences. • Work with SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, PowerShell scripting, and SPFx for integrated solutions. • Conduct functionality discovery and requirements workshops. • Participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with best practices and standards. • Troubleshoot and document issues within D365 and Power Platform. • Engage in Agile SDLC practices for iterative delivery. • Develop documentation, technical analysis, and mockups based on business needs. • Implement DevOps practices within the Power Platform (Power Pipelines/ALM Accelerator). • Define and promote governance frameworks for Power Platform usage at VDOT. Required Skills & Qualifications • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse). • 5+ years of SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365, PowerShell scripting, SPFx experience. • 5+ years of custom development using .NET, JavaScript, and C#. • 3+ years of experience with Azure Synapse or Azure Data Factory for data integrations. • 2+ years of DevOps experience in Power Platform/D365 environments. • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly Desired: • Experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio. • Certifications in PowerApps Developer or Power Platform Professional. • Experience customizing and implementing Forms, Views, Plug-ins, Workflows, and BPFs in D365.
