Position Overview:
The client is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer with strong expertise in semantic data modeling, advanced DAX development, data visualization, SQL development, and Power BI administration. The role involves designing scalable BI solutions, developing enterprise-grade datasets and dashboards, and supporting data governance and self-service analytics across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimize Power BI semantic models using dimensional modeling techniques (star/snowflake schema, dataflows, shared datasets).
Develop advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs while optimizing performance for large datasets.
Build interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using best practices in data visualization and storytelling.
Write and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures in Oracle and SQL Server environments.
Manage Power BI Service administration, including workspaces, datasets, gateways, refresh schedules, RLS/OLS security, and capacity utilization.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable BI solutions.
Support data governance, documentation, and self-service BI initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in Power BI development and IT development.
Strong expertise in semantic modeling, advanced DAX, Power Query (M), Power BI Desktop and Service.
5+ years of SQL development in Oracle and SQL Server.
Experience with Power BI administration (gateways, RLS/OLS, workspace governance, capacity management).
Experience working with large, complex datasets in multi-system environments.
Experience with Oracle BI / OBIEE semantic model (RPD), interactive reports, and dashboards.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of enterprise data governance frameworks.
Experience supporting self-service analytics and governed BI environments.
