Tableau Developer
Locations: Chicago, Peoria, IL or Dallas/Irving, TX (On-site, 5 days/week)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st shift
Job Type: W2, 12-month contract with possible extensions
Pay Rate: $50 - 55/hourly with optional benefits packages including PTO, medical insurance, and 401k
Summary:
The main function of this role is to design, develop, and modify data and dashboards. The developer will partner with a business analyst to assess the current landscape of dashboards, create a plan to reduce and optimize the dashboard environment, and execute a new dashboard strategy.
Job Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and modify data and dashboards using aftermarket data and Tableau.
• Partner with business analysts to assess and streamline the dashboard landscape.
• Modify existing dashboards to correct errors and improve usability.
• Analyze future user needs and execute development requirements.
• Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan dashboard specifications and layouts.
• Obtain and evaluate information on reporting formats, costs, and security needs to determine dashboard configuration.
• Consult with business stakeholders about dashboard design and maintenance.
• Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Create business-critical dashboards for multiple departments, transforming data as needed.
• Ensure proper security models for dashboards containing sensitive, high-priority data.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in analytics, computer science, or related quantitative field (Master’s or PhD accepted with relevant experience).
• 5+ years of experience in industry-standard visualization tools (Tableau required, Power BI a plus).
• High-level visual communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Experience with data transformation tools (SQL, Snowflake, Salesforce, Google Analytics) preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork, initiative, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
• Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive feedback.
