Summary
We are seeking a Program Insights Engineer (PIE) or BIE II to join our fast-paced, startup-like environment within the aerospace and satellite manufacturing space. This role focuses on building scalable BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making for operations teams. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills in data visualization and SQL with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Dashboard & Reporting Development
Build insightful dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight (preferred), Tableau, or Power BI.
Select the right visualization for each KPI (tables, charts, graphs) to ensure clarity and usability.
Requirement Gathering & Prioritization
Partner with operations and stakeholders to translate high-level asks into technical requirements.
Participate in prioritization exercises to manage multiple BI requests.
Data Analysis & Optimization
Write and optimize complex SQL queries in Amazon Redshift (or similar).
Validate and clean data during UAT/testing; escalate pipeline issues to data engineering when needed.
Collaboration with Data Engineering
Understand data flows and partner with DE teams to specify new tables, joins, or pipelines when required.
Ensure solutions are scalable and future-proof.
Predictive & Historical Analytics
Deliver both historical reporting and forecasting/predictive insights.
Compliance
Adhere to DoD and security requirements in all deliverables.
Required Qualifications
3β6 years of experience in BI, data analytics, or related roles.
Strong experience with data visualization tools:
Amazon QuickSight (preferred), Tableau, or Power BI.
Advanced SQL skills:
Ability to write complex queries, joins, and perform query optimization.
Familiarity with Amazon Redshift or similar data warehouses.
Understanding of data pipelines and flows (partnering with DE teams, not building from scratch).
Strong communication skills to work with non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to take ownership, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PreferredQualifications
Python for automation and advanced analytics (nice-to-have).
Experience integrating BI solutions with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP).
Background in aerospace/defense or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Experience with predictive analytics and forecasting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
