Role description
The Technology Strategy Analyst will serve as a strategic partner to business units, helping drive data-driven decision-making, improve analytics maturity, and support the adoption of business intelligence (BI) tools and processes across the organization. This role is highly consultative and cross-functionalβideal for someone with strong industry experience, excellent relationship management skills, and a deep understanding of how data supports business strategy.
The ideal candidate brings experience in Pharma, Biotech, Life Sciences, or Financial Services and is comfortable translating business needs into actionable data questions, metrics, and insights. They will champion data literacy, support change management efforts, and guide leaders through the adoption of data and BI capabilities.
Responsibilities
Strategic Partnering & Consultation
β’ Serve as the primary liaison between business units and technology teams, representing business needs and ensuring alignment with enterprise data and analytics initiatives.
β’ Consult with leaders to understand strategic priorities and identify high-value BI and analytics solutions.
β’ Synthesize insights across lines of business to identify common themes, overlapping needs, and scaling opportunities.
Data Enablement & BI Adoption
β’ Educate business partners on BI tools, reporting capabilities, and data literacy concepts.
β’ Promote a data-driven culture by helping non-technical stakeholders understand dashboards, KPIs, metrics, and data governance considerations.
β’ Support teams in adopting new tools, processes, and data-centric ways of working.
Analytics Strategy & Solution Framing
β’ Translate business objectives into clear data requirements, metrics, and success criteria.
β’ Collaborate with BI teams to ensure solutions meet operational and strategic needs.
β’ Monitor ongoing delivery to ensure solutions provide measurable value.
Change Management & Stakeholder Influence
β’ Act as a change agent to help leaders and teams embrace new technologies, insights, and workflows.
β’ Influence stakeholders across multiple departments, driving alignment and reducing ambiguity.
β’ Maintain clear documentation of decisions, requirements, and progress updates.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
β’ Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to resolve issues, prioritize enhancements, and ensure seamless execution.
β’ Stay current on the IT roadmap and upcoming initiatives to guide business partners proactively.
β’ Identify opportunities to optimize, standardize, and scale analytics practices across the organization.
Qualifications
Required
β’ 8+ years in business intelligence, analytics strategy, internal consulting, business partnering, or similar roles (10+ years without a degree).
β’ Strong proficiency with BI-adjacent tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
β’ Demonstrated understanding of how data and analytics support business operationsβideally within underwriting, financial services, pharma, biotech, or life sciences.
β’ Proven experience educating stakeholders on data concepts and driving adoption of BI tools or data-driven practices.
β’ Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and systems mindset.
β’ Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear business language.
β’ Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and influencing without authority.
β’ Strong documentation, organization, and prioritization skills.
Preferred
β’ Experience with data governance, KPIs vs metrics, or data literacy programs.
β’ Background supporting organizational change, digital transformation, or analytics adoption efforts.
