Role description
CDP Full-Stack Developer
Engineering Data Platform | 3 Month Contract; strong likelihood for extension
Hybrid in Kansas City
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Full-Stack Developer to support the development of a Computational Design Platform (CDP) built for engineering project workflows. This platform is a purpose-built engineering tool that accepts structured design inputs via a web-based form interface, ingests that data, and executes engineering calculations to produce technically accurate outputs for use across EPC project teams.
This is not a data management or CRM tool — it is a computational engineering application. The ideal candidate understands the importance of calculation accuracy, can translate engineering logic into reliable software, and is comfortable working across the full stack from intuitive front-end data entry interfaces to robust back-end computation engines hosted on Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop web-based data entry forms and interfaces using Svelte for engineering design inputs
• Build and maintain back-end services and computation pipelines using Python
• Implement and validate engineering calculation logic based on requirements from engineering stakeholders
• Ensure computational accuracy and data integrity across all ingestion and calculation workflows
• Deploy and manage application infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Integrate AI-assisted features and workflows using Google AI Studio to enhance design computation
• Work closely with engineers and project managers to understand calculation methodologies and design parameters
• Build output and reporting layers that surface calculation results in a clear, usable format
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile development processes
Required Technical Skills
Front-End
• Svelte / SvelteKit — component development, routing, and reactive UI
• HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Building accessible, user-friendly data entry forms and dashboards
Back-End
• Python — REST APIs, data processing, and engineering calculation logic
• Experience with frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask
• Familiarity with data validation, transformation, and structured ingestion workflows
Cloud & AI
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP) — Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, or equivalent services
• Google AI Studio — experience building or integrating AI-assisted workflows
• Familiarity with GCP IAM, networking, and deployment best practices
Nice to Have
• Experience in the EPC, construction, or engineering industry
• Familiarity with engineering calculation methodologies, parametric design, or computational modeling
• Experience building or working with engineering calculation engines or design automation tools
• Experience with agentic AI workflows or LLM integration for engineering applications
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices on GCP
• Experience with technical output generation, reporting, or data visualization for engineering results
What We're Looking For
• A self-starter who can work with ambiguity and translate complex engineering requirements into working, accurate software
• Strong communication skills — you will work directly with engineers and project managers who speak in technical, domain-specific terms
• Highly detail-oriented with an uncompromising commitment to computational accuracy
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for applying AI to real-world engineering design challenges in the EPC industry
